The original Q2 timeline has shifted, but for good reason. Instead of rushing, we\u2019ve focused on something bigger. Changes that will strengthen the entire system and bring more value to every user. We\u2019re just weeks away from release, and what\u2019s coming next will set MapMetrics apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Drive-to-Earn to Map to Earn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re making a major move from \u201cdrive-to-earn\u201d to a new model we\u2019re calling Map to Earn.<br>This is more than a rebrand. It\u2019s a shift in how contributions work. Instead of relying only on movement or distance driven, Map to Earn opens the door for anyone to help shape the map, whether you&#8217;re behind the wheel or on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Changing:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Add Points of Interest (POIs):<\/strong> Missing addresses? Local landmarks? You can now add them directly.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vote on Contributions:<\/strong> Help verify what others upload, keeping the map accurate and useful.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Build Locally, Impact Globally:<\/strong> Your inputs go into the cloud, get reviewed by other users, and feed into a map used around the world.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Map to Earn hands control over to the people using the map, making it flexible, relevant, and owned by the community, not just by one company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Real-World Use: Introducing MapAtlas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And here\u2019s where it gets even more exciting. We\u2019re officially introducing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapatlas.xyz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MapAtlas<\/a>, our dedicated client-facing platform where your Map to Earn contributions become part of real-world solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t just future potential. It\u2019s already live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through MapAtlas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Businesses can now access the hyper-local data you\u2019ve helped build.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clients can create their mapping portals powered by your contributions.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your local updates are being used in active projects, from navigation systems to logistics platforms.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s not all. We\u2019re also bringing in data from other <a href=\"https:\/\/mapmetrics.org\/nl\/blog\/depin-crypto-projecten-stimuleren-gebruikersadoptie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DePIN-projecten<\/a> and offering them as API packages. This connects the broader DePIN ecosystem under one roof and gives clients powerful alternatives to the generic, one-size-fits-all datasets offered by big tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Map to Earn now means more than just earning from your input. It means seeing your contributions in action, shaping the next generation of decentralized mapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Updates Will Roll Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll introduce these new features step by step. Instead of pushing everything at once, we\u2019re taking a sprint-based approach. This gives you time to explore new tools, and gives us space to fine-tune what\u2019s working and fix what\u2019s not. It\u2019s a better way to build, responsive, transparent, and easier to grow with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SPT Firmware Gets an Upgrade<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re using a Special Position Tracker (SPT), expect more soon. Currently, these devices handle encrypted traffic tracking. With the next firmware update, we\u2019re adding wardriving, which means even more detailed and accurate data for the Map to Earn network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This upgrade will help capture new types of local information, improving how maps respond to real-world conditions and creating more value for everyone contributing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why We\u2019re Focused on Sustainability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve heard the feedback. Everyone wants to see the token live. So do we. But launching a token only makes sense if the system behind it is strong, useful, and growing.
