Delete your account in the app
- Open the MapMetrics app and sign in.
- Go to your Profile and open the Info tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account (below Logout).
- Confirm with Delete.
Your account is deactivated and hidden immediately, and all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. This cannot be undone.
Request deletion without the app
No app, or can't sign in? Send us a deletion request by e-mail. You don't need to log in anywhere.
This opens your e-mail app with a prefilled message to privacy@mapmetrics.xyz, subject "Delete my MapMetrics account". Fill in the e-mail address of your account and your username. If you can, send it from the e-mail address of your account: that is how we check that the account is yours. If you write from another address, we may ask you to confirm from the account address first.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Immediately: your account is deactivated and hidden. You are signed out on all devices, and your profile, stories, reviews, check-ins, follows, group posts and ride presence disappear for other users. You can no longer sign in to the account; signing up again creates a new, empty account.
Within 30 days, automatically and permanently, everything else linked to your account is deleted:
- trips and their routes, rewards and points history, badges and quests;
- saved places and routes, uploaded photos and videos;
- push notification tokens and your sign-in records, including your sign-in record at our login provider (Firebase).
A request by e-mail is handled the same way; we confirm by e-mail once it has been carried out.
We keep only:
- anonymised records that can no longer be linked to you: entries in the rewards and payout ledger and hotel booking records needed for accounting and tax law (for the legal retention period, without your account), past weekly leaderboard results, reports you filed about content (still counted, without your identity), and comments in other people's threads, shown as "[deleted]";
- data we must keep by law, for as long as the law requires;
- short-lived operational records, which expire on their own schedule (see section 9 of the privacy policy);
- traffic statistics: the historical archive uses a code that changes every day instead of your account ID and has no GPS coordinates, so it cannot be linked to you after that day.
In-app points (VAULT) have no monetary value and are not paid out when an account is deleted.
