MapMetrics Shifts to “Map to Earn” and Prepares for Major Rollout

A fresh chapter is unfolding at MapMetrics, built on community input, local data, and real utility.

A Note to the Community

To everyone in the MapMetrics community, thank you. Your support, ideas, and patience have shaped everything we’re building. Without you, this platform wouldn’t exist. We’re listening, we’re building, and we’re getting closer to launch

Project Update: Delay with Purpose

You’ve been asking about the token launch. The original Q2 timeline has shifted, but for good reason. Instead of rushing, we’ve focused on something bigger. Changes that will strengthen the entire system and bring more value to every user. We’re just weeks away from release, and what’s coming next will set MapMetrics apart.

From Drive-to-Earn to Map to Earn

We’re making a major move from “drive-to-earn” to a new model we’re calling Map to Earn.
This is more than a rebrand. It’s a shift in how contributions work. Instead of relying only on movement or distance driven, Map to Earn opens the door for anyone to help shape the map, whether you’re behind the wheel or on foot.

What’s Changing:

  • Add Points of Interest (POIs): Missing addresses? Local landmarks? You can now add them directly.
  • Vote on Contributions: Help verify what others upload, keeping the map accurate and useful.
  • Build Locally, Impact Globally: Your inputs go into the cloud, get reviewed by other users, and feed into a map used around the world.

Map to Earn hands control over to the people using the map, making it flexible, relevant, and owned by the community, not just by one company.

Real-World Use: Introducing MapAtlas

And here’s where it gets even more exciting. We’re officially introducing MapAtlas, our dedicated client-facing platform where your Map to Earn contributions become part of real-world solutions.

This isn’t just future potential. It’s already live.

Through MapAtlas:

  • Businesses can now access the hyper-local data you’ve helped build.
  • Clients can create their mapping portals powered by your contributions.
  • Your local updates are being used in active projects, from navigation systems to logistics platforms.

That’s not all. We’re also bringing in data from other projetos DePIN and offering them as API packages. This connects the broader DePIN ecosystem under one roof and gives clients powerful alternatives to the generic, one-size-fits-all datasets offered by big tech.

Map to Earn now means more than just earning from your input. It means seeing your contributions in action, shaping the next generation of decentralized mapping.

How Updates Will Roll Out

We’ll introduce these new features step by step. Instead of pushing everything at once, we’re taking a sprint-based approach. This gives you time to explore new tools, and gives us space to fine-tune what’s working and fix what’s not. It’s a better way to build, responsive, transparent, and easier to grow with.

SPT Firmware Gets an Upgrade

If you’re using a Special Position Tracker (SPT), expect more soon. Currently, these devices handle encrypted traffic tracking. With the next firmware update, we’re adding wardriving, which means even more detailed and accurate data for the Map to Earn network.

This upgrade will help capture new types of local information, improving how maps respond to real-world conditions and creating more value for everyone contributing.

Why We’re Focused on Sustainability

We’ve heard the feedback. Everyone wants to see the token live. So do we. But launching a token only makes sense if the system behind it is strong, useful, and growing. That’s why we’ve been focused on building the foundation, real tools, active client interest, and a mapping model with long-term relevance.

Map to Earn isn’t about short-term hype. It’s about a system that rewards users for meaningful contributions.

What’s Next?

A lot is in motion right now. Features are being tested, devices are being updated, and more announcements are on the way. But one thing’s clear. This next phase of MapMetrics is being built with people at the center.

Map to Earn is more than a feature. It’s a new way to contribute, earn, and build something useful together.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
